Six pieces you need from the Archive by Alexa collection

The 'Harry' top in pink and white, £35, each, Archive by Alexa

Archive by Alexa is undoubtedly the most talked about high street collaboration of 2016. Down to the wearability, versatility and affordable price points, amongst my friends, it's surpassed Balmain's utterly balmy collab with H&M in terms of hype. If you're braving the queues tomorrow morning I reallllly hope you don't face the actual madness I witnessed (and survived) at the H&M x Balmain preview shop: but then again, I can't imagine people behaving badly in beloved Marks & Sparks.

The 31-piece collection has been carefully curated by Alexa Chung: your old fave T4 presenter and British style icon. Alexa's delved into M&S' archives (located within Leeds University, incase you were curious) selecting styles, cuts, patterns and prints to be lovingly updated with a fresh, modern spin. Classics have been reinvented and revived, while also giving a nod to this season's biggest trends - if you're looking to purchase the ubiquitous ruffle shirt this Spring look no further than the Harry shirt.

First thing Wednesday morning I'll be eagerly purchasing the dreamy 'Frances' khaki trench coat, inspired by a hard-wearing gabardine style from the 1950s and crisp pie-collared 'Harry Top' - I'm currently undecided between the white and baby pink styles.

There's such a great variety of mix-and-match knits, classic tea and baby doll dresses so whatever you manage to get your hands on your sure to pick up a timeless style that'll see you through the next few summers!

This collaboration marks the first in Marks & Spencer's 'M&S & ...' series where the much loved high-street chain will be partnering up with both iconic and engaging new designers (such as Michael Van Der Ham and Kestin Hare) as well as and established fashion influencers (like Jourdan Dunn). I've seen previews of pieces from two of these partnerships and there's genuinely a piece for everyone in each.

Shop my six favourite pieces below when the collection drops in-store and online tomorrow (13th April):
Harry Top, £35; Frances Coat, £89; Edna Shirt, £35; Cora Bikini Top, £18; bottoms, £14;
Ada Blazer, £49.50;  Helen Trainer, £49.50
