Whether you like yours adorned with embroidery, embellishment or patches. A little love worn, oversized or simply plain: the denim jacket is a summer time staple.

I used to be ALL about cropped light-wash styles (link) but I’ve really got into oversized styles this summer, wholly due to Levi’s awesome Trucker Jackets. I fell completely in love with this mid-wash, oversized style: covered with playful paisley patchwork it adds a little character to your outfit.

I’ve been wearing mine with black jeans and a Breton tee on overcast and rainy ‘summer’ days. Or throwing it over a light summer dress when the sun actually comes out.

Nothing tops off a summer look better than a denim jacket and, thanks to the revival of 90s trends they look set to be staying with us well into next summer. Whilst throwback styles with vintage washes and cute patchwork detailing are my favourites (opt for a size larger than usual for a flattering boyfriend fit) jackets, crafted from denim in boxier and more seasonal shapes are equally as fun.
