Black Friday 2019: Anthropologie discounts

What a lovely sentence the 'Anthropologie Black Friday Sale' is. The Black Friday sales have all begun a little earlier this year, with almost a whole week of pre-sale discounts filling my inbox.

I'm never one to really go all in on Black Friday, I think my key buys up to this point have been a Robert's Radio for my Dad and litres of Phillip Kinglsey's 'Elasticizer.' But, this year with my wedding date on the horizon I'm considering this Black Friday my last chance to go big before my saving plan kicks in in January. So, every single dream buy and final treat that's lingering in wish lists and baskets has the potential of becoming a reality this year.

Top of my list, bar all my go-to Topshop essentials (click here to shop Topshop's Black Friday offers), is everything from Anthropologie. It's one of the few stores I'm happy to spend an infinite amount of time in and the only place I go to when considering what my domestic dream might one day look like.

The Topshop Black Friday Sale Has Started

The Black Friday sales are already here, with the sales of a few of my favourite stores - including Topshop's already starting.

With discounts on pieces that are year round staples and constant go-to's in my wardrobe I thought I'd share a few of my favourite pieces with you. From my beloved straight leg jeans to their abundant selection of ankle boots the Topshop sale is one of the few Black Friday sales I'll be shopping this year.

I've curated the best discounted pieces on the site, a real mix of styles you can buy and wear now and mix and match throughout the rest of the season. Think Christmas party, festive work drinks and cosy walks around Christmas markets. With 25% off everything on site at Topshop there's never been a better time to stock up on your favourite jeans.

Summer Suiting

I'M WEARING

As those of you who follow me on Instagram will know, I'm currently in LA for the wedding of two of my dearest friends, David and Marie. I first visited them the summer that gay marriage was legalised within the US and it's been a long running joke (until the wedding) that Marie and I would elope so I could live in LA.

So, it seemed only fitting that I should pack this sharp bright white suit, just incase... she thought it was hilarious when I surprised her in it ahead of us leaving for her wedding location two days before her big day.

Sadly she chose love over my green card and I promptly changed into yoga pants and a (grey) tee - because noone other than the Bride can wear white on her wedding weekend. Duh!

Jokes aside, Summer suiting is something I've always been rather partial to. From last summer's go-to lilac suit situation to this year's sharp white short set. I have a real soft spot for top-to-toe tailoring and & Other Stories has become my one-stop destination with sharply cut pieces for under £50 and £100.

Whether you're into a long or short twinset or prefer a more subtle and singular look there are endless options across the high street so you can suit up in a way that suits you best. With brides option for a modern white suit for their big day and wedding guests layering a sharply cut blazer over their floral dresses this summer there's never been a better time to invest.

Try wearing your blazer with jeans, trainers and a simple white or grey tee to brunch or opt for shorts and sliders for summer meetings. Sundae shades might still be popular but optic white is still my favourite.

The Best of Reformation

Kiernan Dress, Reformation

This was truly a week of firsts, not only did I finally make it to The Little Market (read all about it here) I managed to visit Reformation.

Typically, this aligned with the same week the dreamy LA-bases brand launched on Net-a-Porter - opening up the label and removing the worry of those dreaded importation fees.

Regardless of this I, of course, tried everything on in-store and had such fun using their innovative in-changing room order system.

Crafted from sustainably-sourced fabrics everything about Reformation's process, from fabrics to factory emissions is planet-focussed and friendly. Founder Yarl Afalo's ethos is to "make killer clothes that don't kill the environment."

Designed to withstand seasonal trends there's something so innately chic about each piece that makes them endlessly versatile - whether you're spending the day at the beach, heading to a spring garden party of a friend's summer wedding you'll reach for your Reformation gem season after season and year after year.

Look for pieces detailed with Reformation's signature shirred bodice, like my Kiernan Dress, which is cut for a flattering bustier-inspired fit and  fitted with a shirred back panel for a flexible and supportive fit. I loved the ditsy floral print and playful ruffled trims.

Seventeen Straw Totes To Tote This Summer

Straw totes, from a selection at The Little Market, Pacific Palisades store

This week I finalllly made it to The Little Market - Lauren Conrad's ethical fair trade not-for-profit brand - pop up in Pacific Palisades. It was my first time to the area and oh-my its beautiful.

Unsurprisingly everything in store was perfectly curated with the labels signature brass candles poured by refugee women and, blush and gold beaded bracelets handmade by survivors of domestic abuse, line the shelves. I particularly loved the gift boxes- the Casablanca and Fiesta were my favourites and I feel so inspired to create my own for friends dinner parties in the future.

However the perfect straw totes completely stole my heart. I'm obsessed - whether woven or wicker I'm completely besotted. I carried my go-to from last summer to the airport with me as it's so easy to carry both my everyday essentials and the pieces I collect throughout my day within.

The easiest way to make an everyday outfit feel that little more summery I've built up a little assortment of styles over the last few years and wear in rotation throughout Spring whether I'm away or just on errands in London. A staple each season you can easily tote yours to everything from a picnic in the park to a pool party.

I’ve compiled an edit of the best holiday bags which have summer written (quite literally in some cases) all over them! Available in all shapes and styles, these these playful styles are perfect for packing in all your essentials: roomy enough to fit your beach towel, sunblock and book whilst abroad, or, jacket and umbrella when home.

Dainty Jewellery Edit

Alitha Lemon Dress, Baum und Pfedegarten via Studio B; Stacked Huggie Hoop Earrings (*gifted), Daisy Jewellery

*all links affiliated

Those of you who know me, or have followed me on either her on Instagram for a while will know that I'm very minimal when it comes to jewellery for both myself and my clients. Always opting for pieces that subtly enhance a look rather than pieces that define one - personally, I think this is the best way to ensure your jewellery is regularly reached for.

Until about three years ago I was a silver jewellery girl. Something which feels so removed from me now, as I'm all about gold-tones that enhance any warmth in my often ghostly pale skin.

I rather enthusiastically re-pierced my ears recently, so I was so thrilled when Daisy London reached out to me to share their new season collection with me and let me pick a pair of their gorgeous styles.

I opted for the Stacked Huggie Hoop Earrings as they were something a little different to my everyday studs - I'm not usually a hooped earrings kind of girl as my hair always gets tangled up in them but these are perfectly sized and, a whole month in, I'm yet to catch or get them tangled up on anything.

One of the original and my favourite bloggers Estee Lalonde recently collaborated with Daisy London creating affordable and oh-so dreamy bohemian inspired pieces like this rising sun necklace that would make an ideal gift for a loved one (or yourself...).

5 Embellished Bags To Tote This Spring

Fuzzy Jumper, & Other Stories; White Jeans, Topshop; Bag, Zara

After spending the last three months lusting over Ganni's heavenly embellished pouches I was thrilled to re-discover this playful bag during a huge Spring clear out.

Although I can't quite remember exactly when I purchased it - it could have been last summer or two summer's before, goodness knows - I'm thrilled I did.

Despite being neglected, rather heavily, for the last however many summer's in the week since I rediscovered it, it's already become a go-to. Ideal for adding a playful touch to any look, whether a simple tee and jeans or a party dress I'm besotted.

The Trench Coat

Checked Trench Coat, Warehouse via Littlewoods.com; Knitted Dress, Topshop;
Suede Mules, Marks & Spencer; Top handle Bag, Very.co.uk

For me, nothing (albeit subtly) screams timelessness quite like a trench coat. The epitome of sophistication a trench coat can immediately elevate a simple Breton, jeans and trainers look just as well as it can lend much needed casual-touch to a party dress - my go-to trick for getting even more wear out of my beloved Rixo dresses.

Whilst a great trench can make a clever investment - one of Burberry's signature styles will see you through for many, many years to come - you can find some really chic, trench's that feel equally as luxe for under £50 and under £100 on the high street. It's all down to the details.

Opt for a style that offers something a little different to the archetypal trench coat: whether that's one cut from a playful print, adorned with embroidery or, decorated with statement buttons. Like this Whistles trench coat, my beloved Mango jacket features sweet ties at each sleeve.

What To Wear For Valentine's Date Night

Ruched Polka Dot Dress, £79, & Other Stories

So, for full and clear disclosure I don't really celebrate Valentine's day. I definitely don't have any elaborate or low-key plans for this Thursday but I vicariously live it (rather heavily) through colleagues and friends date nights and their little and outrageous gifting.

Six Things I Learnt From My Social Media Detox

In the final three months of 2018 my beloved dog, boyfriend's dad and my own Pops were taken ill. Really ill. And, with multiple trips to vets, hospitals and a spontaneous trip to the beach it was all a bit much.

Life can sometimes get a bit much - 2018 certainly taught me that. It also taught me to be a little more selfish with both my time and choices.
