The lust list: my summer beauty wish list

Clockwise from left: Hot Cloth Cleanser, £15.50, Lancome; Dahlia Divin Le Nectar de Parfum, £48 for 30ml, Givenchy; Narsissist Dual-Intensity Blush Palette, £40, Nars; Retouching Face Pencil, £22, Bobbi Brown; Eye Art Caviar Palette, £45, Laura Mercier all exclusively available at John Lewis.

It's almost inevitable that as soon as you start saving, you see things you're very keen to/must purchase. Of course none of these pieces are exactly essential but then, where's the fun in that? I'm always keen to trial products and am constantly adding pieces I see at launches onto my wish list.

I thought I'd try something a little different to my usual reviews and share five new-in products with you that are currently at the top of my wish-list: a compilation of August's must have beauty products if you will...

Cleansers are a must-have in your daily beauty routine: the perfect tool to remove make up and clean your face but finding the right one is a bloomin' task and a half. Suitable for dry and sensitive skin, I've heard great things about Lancome's offering and am keen to see this foaming cleanser lives up to it's promise of radiance.

The third addition to the Dahlia Divin collection, Givenchy's latest offering also contains the same Sambac Jasmine note as the previous two: complemented by notes of Mimosa, Rose and Tonka Bean it's got the husky, wood-y tones that I love. I always spritz it when I passing through John Lewis' beauty hall and think this will be the first product from my wish list that I actually purchase.

Offering endless blush options this compact is sure to see you through from summer-to-autumn: with ultra-modern shades that work as well when worn alone as they do when layered together. Super versatile and flattering on all skin tones, Nars' compact features blush, highlighter and contouring shades: a great all-in-one option!
A make-up artist recently shared her NARSissist secret with me, advising my to apply my blush wet in order to achieve a natural-looking glow or high-impact flush.

As I discuss in my concealer edit, a great concealer can make all the difference: the right one should brighten shadowy areas, disguise blemishes and, when paired with your favourite foundation provide an even, smooth and flawless skin tone: something often easier said than done. Bobbi Brown's promises this and more - I'm really eager to try this and their new Illuminate Pencil.

Make the most of the remaining days of summer with this versatile new 12-shade eye palette that'll take you from office-to-bar (or pool-to-party, it's a travel-friendly compact after all...) with ease. Inspired by the cult-favourite Caviar Stick Eye Colour, Laura Mercier's mirrored palette contains six matte and six crushed pearl-shimmer shades. I love neutral shadow shades and think this will make a great investment.
